If you have not used medicines such as blood pressure, antidepressants, or beta-blockers, and you are not under special conditions such as pregnancy or illness, you have shown your cardiovascular fitness with a lower heart rate. So the lower your resting heart rate, the healthier you are. The best time to measure your resting heart rate is in the morning when you wake up. In a lying position, count the heart rate for one minute with two index and middle fingers next to the neck. A heart rate below 60 is good for most people and below 50 is great.
